Due to its military importance, the city was closed to foreigners between 1930 and 1992. Vladivostok (literally translated as ‘Ruler of the East’) offers visitors an interesting opportunity to explore its principal military attractions including a visit to a preserved World War Two submarine.

Located 15 miles (25 kilometres) from the border with China, Khabarovsk stretches along the banks of the Amur River. Khabarovsk was founded as a military post in 1858, but the region had been populated by several indigenous peoples of the Far East for many centuries. It is now a busy city with tree-lined streets.

Irkutsk, capital of South Baikal, is one of the largest Siberian cities and was a key stop for caravans from Buchara and even China. Today Irkutsk became a center of gold-mining production and is developing fast. In the city you can discover unique examples of Irkutsk architectural heritage, such as “White house”, which was first a palace of the merchants Sibiryakovs, then a residence of East Siberia governor-general.

Listvyanka village is located on the shore of Lake Baikal 65 km away from Irkutsk city. This village was founded in the18th century and got its name from larch trees growing on the nearest cape. At the end of the 1920s, a Limnologicalstation was founded here; later it became the Limnological Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences. Its museum is already 10 years in existence and is visited annually by over 50,000 people. The exhibits acquaint visitorswith the history of studying and researching Lake Baikal, its fauna and its flora.

Few natural sights can surpass the beauty and grandeur of the Pearl of Siberia. Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world and holds 20% of the world’s freshwater. It stretches for 636 km longwise and 80 km widthwise. The Baikal’s maximum depth is 1,637 m. It is known as a "laboratory of biodiversity" as it is home to nearly 3,000 species of animals and plants, many of which are found nowhere else, such as a unique breed of freshwater seal.

Olkhon is the fourth-largest lake-bound island in the world. It is by far the largest island in Lake Baikal in eastern Siberia, with an area of 730 km2 (280 sq mi). The western shore ends with the many bays of the Maloye More. The island is 72 kilometres long and 15 kilometres wide.
Scientists still debate whether 'Olkhon' translates as 'little forest' or 'dry' as both names fit well.
Olkhon has a great combination of landscapes and is rich in archaeological landmarks. Olkhon is the geographical, historical and sacred centre of Lake Baikal. There are many legends and fairy tales about the island; it is believed to be the home of numerous Baikal spirits.

Ust-Orda

Ust-Orda is a village in Irkutsk region. The village is located mostly on the right coast of the Kuda River (one of the tributaries of the Angara), 62km to the north of the regional centre. The river flow into several smaller rivers, among them there is the Ordushka (Orda) which gave the name to the village. Ust-Orda is surrounded by hills from the west and east, the height in some places reaches 700 m. 3 km away from the village is located the Bulen Mountain, which is the sacred place for Buryat people even nowadays. Buryats are very numerous ethnic groups inhabiting the territory of Siberia. Ust-Orda region is known for the roots of the Buryat traditional culture having originated here. During the tour you will get acquainted with Buryat national folklore, national games and try
traditional Buryat cuisine.

The last Russian Emperor, Nicolas II Romanov and his family spent their last days here. On 19th July 1918 the whole family was executed by the Bolsheviks in the basement room of the Ipatiev’s estate. Day 1 (15th May/ 24th July/ 4th September 2018)
VLADIVOSTOK

Your adventure begins! You arrive to Vladivostok*. Your English speaking guide will meet you at the airport with a sign “Trans Sib 2018”. The group will gather at 10:00 at the airport. After a breakfast at a café, embark on a full day tour of Vladivostok covering the main attractions and more: including Vladivostok Railway Station and the C-56 submarine as well as many historic, cultural and architectural landmarks and viewpoints. After lunch, you will visit the Vladivosotk Fortress including two of the old batteries which now serve as museums. We also visit the Voroshilovskaya Battery located inside a real military base on Russky Island. This 80 year old building is a fantastic example of military architecture with its rational organization and efficient functioning. We also see the Pacific Navy warships stationed in the heart of the city which demonstrate the continuing importance of this port to Russia. Day 2 (16th May/ 25th July/ 5th September 2018)
KHABAROVSK

Arrival in Khabarovsk at 08:15. Your guide will meet you at the station and will take you to a café for an early breakfast. Afterwards, you will visit the only rehabilitation centre for wild animals in the Far East, located in the Khabarovsk region - about two hours by car. Wounded animals are kept in the centre for treatment. As soon as an animal is healthy, it is released in the wild. The centre has at its disposal a big territory, where you can see such animals as tigers, bears, reindeers, lynxes and others. You will be back in Khabarovsk for lunch. After a good meal, join in a Khabarovsk city tour around the historical centre of the town with its beautiful streets and major landmarks. You will be brought to the city’s central square – Lenin Square. Besides this, you will visit the Ethnography Museum that has more than 350 000 exhibits devoted to the Far East. The guide will tell you the history of the Far East and the way of life in this region from the old days until now. After the city tour, you will be transferred to the hotel “Khabarovsk city”. Day 3 (17th May/ 26th July/ 6th September 2018)
DEPART KHABAROVSK

After the breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and travel to the train station to board the train to Irkutsk. Once on the train, admire the passing scenery while getting to know better your fellow travellers. Day 4 (18th May/ 27th July/ 7th September 2018)
ON TRAIN

This day you will spend on the train. We have chosen the best train in Russian Railroads for you to feel comfortable during the trip. For accommodation at the train you can chose 2d class sleeper with 4 beds: 2 lower and 2 upper ones. Each compartment has a table, a mirror, lockable doors and a large panoramic window. Bathrooms with small washbasins are located at each end of the car. Tea and coffee are available for purchase on board the train. You can also travel in 1st class sleeper: 1st class LUX is a compartment for 2 people. All compartments are air-conditioned and feature 2 beds with a table in between them. Day 5 (19th May/ 28th July/ 8th September 2018)
IRKUTSK

Today you will arrive in Irkutsk at 15:46. You will be transferred to the3* hotel “Empire” for check-in. At 17:00 – your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby for the city tour; afterwards, enjoy a dinner at a café. Return back to the hotel for some free time. (D) OVERNIGHT: in the hotel “Empire”***

Day 6 (20th May/ 29th July/ 9th September 2018)
LISTVYANKA

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 10:00. Today you will travel to the Listwyanka settlement. On route you will visit “Taltsy” open-air museum. Upon arrival in Listvyanka, enjoy a lunch in a local restaurant, where you will try dishes made of Baikal endemic fish. Later, join in an excursion at the settlement: visiting Baikal museum and Chersky Stone view point by a lift-chair. Return back to Irkutsk for some free time. (B, L) OVERNIGHT: in the hotel “Empire”

Day 7 (21st May/ 30th July/ 10th September 2018)
OLKHON ISLAND

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 10:00. You will travel today to Olkhon Island. On route you will have lunch in a café. Upon arrival in Sakhjurta settlement, you will board the ferry. Once on Olkhon Island, there will be a 4WD car waiting for you to travel to the hotel “Baikalov ostrog”. Later, enjoy a walking tour to cape Burkhan. Dinner. Free time. (B, L, D) OVERNIGHT: in the hotel “Baikalov ostrog”

Day 8 (22nd May/ 31st July/ 11th September 2018)
OLKHON ISLAND

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 10:00. Enjoy an excursion to the Northern part of the island – cape Khoboy, by Russian 4WD car. The trip will take about 7 hours. Join in a picnic with traditional Baikal fish. Return to the hotel for dinner and some free time. (B, L, D) OVERNIGHT: in the hotel “Baikalov ostrog”

Day 9 (23rd May/ 1st August/ 12th September 2018)
DEPART TO IRKUTSK

After breakfast at the hotel, you will check-out at 8:00. Your guide will meet you at the reception; you will travel by 4WD cars to the ferry and then back to Irkutsk (250 km). On route, you will visit Ust-Orda settlement and have lunch in a Buryat yurt (Buryat cuisine). Upon arrival in Irkutsk, you will be transferred to the train station to board the train to Krasnoyarsk. Day 10 (24th May/ 2nd August/ 13th September 2018)
KRASNOYARSK

Today, you arrive to Krasnoyarsk at 8:07. The guide will meet you at the station with the sign “Trans Sib 2018”. After at breakfast at a café, embark on an excursion to Stolby Nature Reserve (6 hours). Return to the city for lunch and later, join in a Krasnoyarsk city tour (2 hours). NOVOSIBIRSK

After a night on the train, you arrive to Novosibirsk at 07:50. Your guide will meet you at the station and take you for a breakfast at a café. Get ready for a 5 hours long Novosibirsk city tour: you will visit Lenin Square - the main place of Novosibirsk where a very beautiful building of Opera and Ballet Theatre is located, the place of Novosibirsk (Novonikolaevsk) foundation, you will see the Chapel of Saint Nicolas which marks the center of Russia, the first brick building of the city – the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky, wooden buildings located in the street Gorkogo – the oldest street of the city, the embankment of Ob river. The excursion will end in the Local Lore museum which presents history and ethnography, flora and fauna of Novosibirsk region. After lunch in the city, you will be transferred to the train station to board the train to Yekaterinburg. YEKATERINBURG

You will arrive to Yekaterinburg at 13:47. The guide will meet you at the station and take you for lunch in a café. Afterwards, you will embark on a great Yekaterinburg city tour and a visit to the Europe and Asia boarder. Yekaterinburg is one of big Russian cities located in the central part of Russia, 1667 km from Moscow, located 40 km from the border between 2 continents Europe and Asia. The border passes through mountain Berezovaya closed to the town Pervouralsk. In August 2004, the stone monument had been established in a point of intersection of Europe and Asia; 2 stones from 2 parts of the world are the symbols of this monument, one had been taken from the most extreme point of Europe – cape Rok and the second - from the edge of Asian continent` s part – cape Dezjnev. In the evening, enjoy a dinner in a café before being transferred to the train station to board the train to Kazan. KAZAN

You will arrive in Kazan at 11:45. Your guide will meet you at the station with the sign “Trans Sib 2018”. After lunch in a café, enjoy a Kazan city tour (5 hours). You will have the chance to visit the most famous sights of Kazan: Kazan Kremlin, Old Tatar Sloboda, a Tatar village Tugan Avylym in the city center, the oldest mosque Marjani, Kamal theatre, the mysterious lake Kaban, Kazan Millennium Park, Liberty Square, the Kazan University, Kazanka river embankment, offering unique views of the coast of the Kazan Riviera, Peter and Paul Cathedral, the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Kazan. Sightseeing tour includes a visit to the Kazan Kremlin. You will see the Spassky tower, leaning tower Syuyumbike, and government buildings, visit the Kul-Sharif Mosque and the Cathedral of the Annunciation. NIZHNY NOVGOROD

Today you arrive in Nizhniy Novgorod at 06:55. Our driver will meet you at the station and take you to a café for a breakfast and some free time. At 9:00 you will meet with the guide who will take you for a Nizhniy Novgorod city tour: you will see such places as the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, the “Strelka” (fork), the Blagoveschensky (Annunciation) Monastery, Nizhne — Volzhskaya Embankment, Rozhdestvenskaya street, Ilyinskaya merchant settlement, the Kremlin; enjoy a walking tour along Bolshaya Pokrovskya street and visit the “Yurkovka“gallery (the richest collection of pictures, created in the technique of floral mosaics). You will also see the Museum of Regional Folk Arts and many local gift shops. After the tour, enjoy a lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon will be spent on a 6 hour long tour, exploring Nizhny Novgorod even further. In the evening, you will be transferred to the train station to catch the train to Vladimir at 18:58. After a short trip, you will arrive in Vladimir at 20:53 and the night will be spent at to the hotel “Russkaya Derevnya”. VLADIMIR

After breakfast at the hotel, you will check-out and meet with your guide the hotel lobby. Unveil the magic of the famous Golden Ring – medieval towns Vladimir and Suzdal – the best places to experience Russian province. We start our exploration by moving to Suzdal to walk on ramparts of its Kremlin and enjoy the onion domes and golden spires. In addition, you learn a lot about Russian history and culture. For the shopaholics and just people in search of extraordinary memorabilia the Suzdal Museum of Wood Craftsmanship open its doors. The huge variety of handcraft souvenirs will astonish you! Also you will be pleasantly surprised by its prices that are far lower than in Moscow. You will visit Vladimir Observation Platform to get enchanted by the panoramic view of this gem town. Then, through the medieval streets, we reach the Assumption Cathedral; its walls are covered with elaborate carvings, and here we can glimpse at Adrei Rublev’s frescos – the most famous icon-painter in Russia. The next stop is the Golden Gate - the architectural masterpiece of that time. After exploring the Golden Ring towns, you will be transferred to the train station for your last train journey! Today, you wake up in Moscow! Make sure to have a hearty breakfast at the hotel to get ready to explore the great Russian capital. Spend the day at your leisure – simply reflect on the beauty of the Trans-Siberian journey or embark on a day of sightseeing*. The city has much to offer whatever the weather from the famous museums such as Pushkin Fine Arts and Tretyakov Art Gallery to more outdoor areas including the Park of the Fallen Idols and Novodevitchy Convent. Of course, if the weather is not so good, Moscow is one of the few cities where a day spent on the metro is a tourist attraction with many beautiful stations to visit and all for the price of a single ticket! For relaxing, we recommend the bars, galleries and cafes of the Red October district or the fabulous Gorky Park.
