Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is a main touristic base where adventure tours and expeditions to Kamchatka begin from. The city offers stunning views as it is located on the shores of Avacha bay among five volcanoes: two active ones, Avachinsky and Koryaksky, smoking Mutnovsky and Gorely, and Vilyuchinsky.

At the beautiful Avachinskaya Bay you can view the nesting place of many of Petropavlovsk sea birds at Grandmother’s Rock Island and Starichkov Island in the open Pacific Ocean. Nearby is the majestic Mutnovsky volcano.

Valley of Geysers is hidden in one of deep canyons in the Kronotsky Reserve. 25 geysers stretch here at a distance of about 5 km along the Geysernaya River stream. A trail on the terrace above the valley floor provides views down onto the Fountain Platform. Unique opportunities to bath in thermal waters are available here.

The Tolbachik massif is composed of two overlapping, but morphologically dissimilar volcanoes - Ostry Tolbachik and Plosky Tolbachik, two of the highest in Kamchatka. The awe-inspiring view of the formation is guaranteed to take your breath away.

Day 1

Welcome to the Russian Far East! Upon arrival in Petropavlovsk, you are transferred to your hotel before taking a trip to Paratunka where you can relax with a swim in the thermal water.

Day 2
Free day. Optional tours are recommended:

Helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers, flight around Karymsky (1486m) and Maly Semyachik (1560m) volcanoes, walk excursion at the Valley. This valley cannot be compared with any other unique objects in the world. There are more than 20 big geysers in the valley. Velican (Giant), Zhemchuzhny (Pearly), Sakharny (Sugary), Troinoi (Triple), Konus (Cone), Fontan (Fountain), Maly (Small), Bolshoy (Big), Shchel (Split) – here are some names. There are geysers that gush forth every 10-12 minutes, while others may erupt once in 4-5 hours. The wreathes of steam, fountains of boiling water, incredible colours of slopes, hot water streaming along them and profuse greenery of grasses and trees create an enchanting spectacle. Lunch is served at the Valley. Boat trip around Avacha Bay. Watching sea bird colonies of Babushkin Kamen Island, Three Brothers Rocks. Going out into the Pacific Ocean to Starichkov Island. Watching the sea birds colony (including the Steller's sea eagle) which is the biggest in Kamchatka. Sea fishing. Lunch with salmon fresh soup. In the evening moving to the settlement Milkovo (280 km). Accommodation in hotel «Geolog».

Day 3

Vehicle transfer to Kozyrevsk village (500km). Helicopter flight to Dvukhyurtochnoye Lake (40 minutes). During the flight, the weather permitting, you can see Alney and Chashakondzha volcanoes. Accommodation at the recreational and tourist base on the lake of "Dvukhyurtochnoye", in wooden houses, in rooms for 4-6 people. Bathing in the healing waters of the hot springs. Lunch in the wardroom. Rest. Walk (600 meters) to the shore of a mountain river "Dvuhyurtochnoye." Observing bears catching fish spawning. (BLD)

Day 4

Travel by helicopter to Dvukhyurtochnoye Lake. Have your camera at the ready - in good weather you can see the Alney and Chashakondzha volcanoes! In the afternoon, take advantage of the healing waters of the hot springs before taking a walk to the banks of the river Dvuhyurtochnoye where you can watch bears catching fish. (B, L, D)

Day 5

Bear watching. After lunch helicopter trip to Kozyrevsk village. Moving to the foot of the beautiful volcanic massif formed by volcanoes Ostry and Plosky Tolbachik (90 km, 4 hours). On the road, on a clear day offers views of the highest volcanoes of Kamchatka: Krestovsky (4057m.), Ushkovsky (3903m.), Klyuchevskaya (4750 m), Stone (4579 m), Plosky Tolbachik (3082 m) and Ostry Tolbachik (3672 m). Overnight in tents. (BLD)

Day 6

Observing the sequences of eruption 2013 (“young” cone, fresh lava flows, caves – “lavovody”, the stone sculptures and the heaps of hardened lava). Spending the night in tents. (BLD)

Day 7

Travel by car to the North breakthrough. Climbing to Tolbachik cones, which are volcanoes in miniature, their height of 100-200 meters. Moving to the South breakthrough (15 km.). Visit the Southern cone break, a walk in the "dead wood", crushed slag and ash eruptions in 1975. In the evening moving to the settlement Kozyrevsk, which is situated on the shore of the River Kamchatka (90 km, 3 hours). Accommodation in the private tourist shelter, in the wooden houses on the special equipped place. Classic Russian bath. Walking (BLD)

Day 8

Returning to Petropanlovsk-Kamchatsky. Early vehicle transfer (580km, 8-9hr) to the hotel “Petropavlovsk”. Stop and lunch in Milkovo on the way. Accommodation, rest. (B)
